DSP’s Assets Worth Rs. 200 Crore
Hyderabad, July 3: A massive corruption whale has been caught in the police department. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has identified that Sankireddy Bheemreddy, DSP of “Police Computer Services,” who joined the police force as an ordinary constable, was selected as SI through a written exam, and rose to the rank of DSP, possesses illegal assets worth approximately Rs. 200 crore. It was found that he purchased a large number of properties in the names of benamis (proxies) within Hyderabad city and in Karnataka. ACB officials revealed that Bheemreddy has been arrested and is under investigation in this regard. Based on information received that he had assets far beyond his known sources of income, ACB officials conducted simultaneous raids on Thursday at 16 locations, including Bheemreddy’s residence in Golconda Ibrahimbagh, Hyderabad, his native home in Alur of Mahabubnagar district, and the residences of his relatives and benamis. At Bheemreddy’s residence, where he lives in a villa worth about Rs. 8 crore, officials found a large number of property documents, foreign liquor, and two kilograms of gold jewelry. However, since most of the assets were held in the names of benamis, Bheemreddy had meticulously recorded in a small notebook the details of whose names the properties were under and their locations. This notebook was found by ACB officials, and based on it, they raided the homes of the benamis and identified further asset details. During checks at the residence of Narender Reddy, former Vice Chairman of Manikonda Municipality, who acted as a benami for Bheemreddy, officials seized Rs. 40 lakh in cash and property documents. It was found that Bheemreddy had purchased, in the names of benamis, one acre of land near the airport on the outskirts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, along with another 44 acres of agricultural land in various parts of the same state. Additionally, it is reported that ACB officials found he had made foreign trips with government permissions, having traveled to Thailand ten times. It has also emerged that a recently inaugurated party office building is linked to Bheemreddy.
